Flying with Swindon Model Aero Club since 2000 I have a preference for War Birds with a selection of WW1,WW2, Korean and Vietnam war aircraft. Interested in large models, I am a member of the Large Model Association.

I am a service manager in Swindon and find model flying and socialising with other members a great stress reliever after a hard week. If you have the time to build your own model you get great satisfaction from seeing it completed and flying. If time is tight there are many Almost Ready To Fly models which can be detailed to make them stand apart. There are many different disciplines at the club from gliders to gas turbines so whether you prefer aerobatics, scale flying or calm evening flying, there is something for everyone and always help at hand from friendly club mates.

I have been interested in model aircraft from the age of 10, starting with building and then flying control line models.

Now that I have retired my plan is to spend a lot more time building and flying. I joined the club in 2011 and having joined the committee I will be looking forward to the full support of all the members to enable us to retain the high standard of flying and safety that my predecessor worked for.

Having joined the club in 2007, I have, after a lot of disasters and help from fellow members, got my A certificate in fixed wing and my A and B in thermal electric.

As for the future I hope to get my B certificate in fixed wing and become a B.M.F.A. approved instructor.
