Smac quiz night will be held at the Coleview community centre, Towcester rd, Swindon.
With a mix of general knowledge and aircraft questions, this will be a good chance to socialise with club mates and perhaps win a prize, so please come along and show your support. As normal 7pm for a 7.30pm start in the towcester room.

Social drinks nights

Posted by Richard Cohen on 2011-12-15 21:54:18 UTC

With the arrival of dark unflyable evenings we are holding monthly social evenings.
These are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. It is a chance to meet up with other members for a drink, chatter and catch up. Again to be held in the bar at the Coleview Centre (just sign in on the list at the door) around 7pm. Well attended by the regulars but it would be nice to see some new faces so come along for a pint of your favorite and a good chinwag.

Wednesday 18th January
Wednesday 15th February

Gallery Updates

Posted by Richard Cohen on 2011-10-06 23:03:28 UTC

The gallery is constantly being updated and there are new photos in existing folders and also some new folders, so have a look and see whats new - you might even see your own model as we have some keen photographers in the club.
If you can't see your model then don't moan, send me some pictures ! Get your 15 minutes of fame (well within the club ) and let everyone else admire that new model or see you on the flightline.
Just send me digital jpeg photos with a title to go with the picture and which folder you want it in, ie 'Silent flight' or 'On the flight line' and i'll put them on.
Regards

Silent Flight Site in Use

Posted by Richard Cohen on 2011-09-24 20:26:23 UTC

There have been concerns about aircraft from the power site flying into the silent flight airspace. It is difficult to see when there are fliers down at the silent flight site so they will erect a windsock/flag when they are flying. This is clearly visable halfway down the disused runway opposite the pits.
Please check for it when flying and be aware of other models in the air.
