We wish
to welcome all new members to our Flying Club and have some fun
with your spare time. You will get a good adrenalin run without
having to run about. If you are coming up in years you may wish
to start a hobby so why not model flying. You could learn all the
stunts: How to loop the loop, victory roll, stall turn and lots
more. Training is free. This is up to BMFA “A” certificate
standard. Once this is achieved we would then encourage you to go
for the “B” If you wish your son or daughter to learn
to fly then this is the place to come. Juniors up to the age of
16 years, pay the junior rate anyone in full time education pays
the junior rate but evidence of this such as student union card
or letter from school, college or university will be required.
Conditions of Membership
As I am sure you are aware, you do not get anything
for nothing, so for the use of Wroughton airfield one of our lease
agreement condition is that we have to provide labour to the nmsi
at their events.
During the year the nmsi holds Open days and SMAC members carry
out Car Parking or Hangar security duties. This usually last for
around four hours at a time and should be no more than a couple
of occasions a year.
Please remember it is your responsibility to contact the SMAC nmsi
Administrator and arrange the duty date and time.
Flight Safety
The SMAC is an affiliated club of the British Model Flying Association
(BMFA). The Committee enforces all the safety rules and guidelines
required by the BMFA plus our own Code of Practice.

How do I join?
Well it's quite simple really. Print off a copy of the Application
Form then all you need to do is fill in and sign the application
form, enclose a cheque for the Club fees (highlighted on the application
form) and two Passport photographs. Return all of the above to the
name and address on the bottom of the application form. As soon
as our Membership Secretary receives your application, it will be
processed and your membership card and other documentation will
be returned to you. It's as easy as that.
